Mkay, so I know I've been posting a lot of music on here lately but I cannot resist the temptation to post this chorus. In the movie Rent there's this amazing song called "What You Own" sung by Anthony Rapp (YAY!) and Adam Pascal. This chorus has stuck out to me for a while and I felt it necessary to share it with you:
When you're living in America,
At the end of the millenium,
When you're living in America,
Leave your conscience at the tone.
Does anyone else thoroughly enjoy that? I do!
Hope everyone's doing good!
Love,
Danielle.

One Moment Away....
I know my last post was also a song suggestion, but these songs are just too awesome to not tell people about! I really have fallen in love with the music of The Afters. Their album "Never Going Back To Okay" is so awesome. The music sounds a little bit the same throughout the album, but the lyrics and vocals are just amazing. This song is called "One Moment Away." My favorite lines are in **.
One Moment Away
The Afters
Wake up and smile
Put on a tie
Walk to the car
And wave goodbye
Radio on
You're singing along
It's all gonna change but how could you know
You're one moment away
One chance left to take
And you're gone
*Are they gonna remember you for running away
Or saving the day from the darkness
And letting your love shine through*
What will you do
You're one moment away
Eyes are on you
The pressure is on
*Where will you stand when the lines have been drawn*
The clocks have all stopped, the story's been told
*This is your life, so how will it show?*
*No you can't pretend that forever
Will never come knocking at your door*
Run through the flames
Never look back
What did you think that you came here for
Once you've listened, post a comment and tell me what you think! :D
love always,
danielle.

Song To Listen To....
So, I've recently discovered (and fallen in love with!) a band called The Afters. I just thought I'd throw a song I just so happen to adore out there and suggest that anyone reading this go listen to it.
Ocean Wide
The Afters
*lyrics under url and in video*

Look outside
It's already light and the stars ran away with the night
Things were said, words that we'll try forget,
It's so hard to admit I know we've made mistakes
I see through all the tears but that's what got us here
[Chorus:]If love is an ocean wide
We'll swim in the tears we cry
They'll see us through to the other side
We're gonna make it
When love is a raging sea
You can hold on to me
We'll find a way tonight
Love is an ocean wide
I'll stay right here
It's where I'll always belong
Tied with your arms
Days like this, I wish the sun wouldn't set
I don't want to forget
What made us feel this way
You see through all my fears
And that's what got us here
[Chorus]
Love is an ocean wide enough to forget Even when we think we can't

Observations.
This is actually about something I noticed a while back, but simply haven't found the time to blog about. Yay hectic schedules! Haha. Anyways, several weeks back (February 12th, 13th, and 14th to be specific), I was part of a production of Shakespeare's The Tempest at my school. I was an actor, as well as Assistant Student Director. As well as being a lot of stress, it was quite a lot of fun. For the first time I got flowers for a production, which I thought was quite nice.
My friend and fellow cast member, Andrea, gave me a beautiful orange rose.
My parents gave me a sparkly red rose.
And The Calhouns, a couple from church, gave me a bouquet of purple, pink, and white daisies.
As I said, I was excited. When I got home I immediately put them in water, hoping they would last a while. The order in which they lasted intriqued me.
The first to die was the orange rose, given from a friend.
The second was the red rose, give from family.
And the daisies from the church couple have yet to go. They're still upstairs in my kitchen.
I thought the order was kind of interesting. Friend and Family died out first, but God's still there. I don't know....I thought it was kind of cool. I think God kind of sent it as a little reminder to me that my friends and even my family may betray me or leave me, but he'll always be there.
"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:20
Peace and Love,
Danielle.

Tuesdays With Morrie.
So, there's this book. It goes by the name of Tuesdays With Morrie and it's by Mitch Albom. It is by far one of the most fantastic books I have ever read. So, I thought I'd put up some of my favorite quotes from the book. :]
*Accept what you are able to do and what you are not able to do.
*Accept the past as past, without denying it or discarding it.
*Learn to forgive yourself and to forgive others.
*Don't assume that it's too late to get involved.
*"Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, byt you are bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't. You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted. A tension of opposites, like a pull on a rubber band. And most of us live somewhere in the middle."
Sounds like a wresting match, I say.
"A wrestling match." He laughs. "Yes, you could describe life that way."
So which side wins, I ask?
"Love wins. Love always wins."
*The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.
*Love is the only rational act.
*Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.
*Love each other or perish.
*Without love, we are birds with broken wings.
*Devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.
*Love is how you stay alive, even after you are gone.
*Invest in the human family. Invest in people. Build a little community of those you love and who love you.
*Don't let go too soon, don't hang on too long.
*Forgive yourself before you die. Then forgive others.
*As long as we can love each other, and remember the feeling of love we had, we can die without ever really going away. All the love you created is still there. All the memories are still there. You live on-in the hearts of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were here.
*Death ends life, not a relationship.
*Love is when you are as concerned about someone else's situation as you are about your own.
I liked these. They stuck out to me as I was reading. Which ones are your favorites?

Rememberance.
March 1, 2007: 7am. I wake up, freaking out because I've overslept, kicking into overdrive to make sure I'm at school on time. We're going to see A Thousand Paper Cranes at The Reperatory Theatre and I'd hate to miss it because I overslept. I run into my mom's room, shaking her awake, not expecting what's coming next. She tells me my grandpa died last night, wondering if I'm staying home. I say no, saying I want to see the play, it'll keep my mind off of things. I'm crying most of the morning, though my friends did a good job of making me smile.
It's two years later. Wow, time goes fast. I miss him, so much. I know he's in a better place, but I can't help but wish he was still here with us. He was such an amazing person. No, he didn't change the world, but he was one of the best people I've ever known. He was so simple. He didn't need much, just what God had given him: nature, his family, basic things. He loved more than anyone I've ever known, I found that out at his funeral. The amount of people he touched was astonishing. It made me realize just how lucky I was. God gave me 13 years with
him! I remember spending so much time with him when I was little. Everytime I would spend the night, during dinner....being shushed because I was too loud during the news. I can just imagine him in Heaven, watching the news, shushing everyone else. Haha. I do wish I could see him now, but I know someday I will. I just wanted to write this for him, one of the most amazing people I've ever known.

Gone far away into the silent land;
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
